SEO & PERFORMANCE
You invest time and skill in your business. That work deserves to reach the right people online. I improve your website’s foundations for search and usability, with relevant content, careful technical work and a clear direction.

The journey to you often starts with a question
People search for a solution, a specific service or a provider in their area. They may not know your name yet. A website can express your character and support recommendations. SEO helps make your offer understandable and discoverable for those searches too.
If your services are barely explained, important pages are difficult for search engines to reach or the mobile experience is awkward, opportunities can remain untapped. Your work deserves a presence that sparks interest and answers the questions people bring with them.
SEO starts with a plan.
Search engine optimisation connects your customers’ questions with relevant content and an accessible technical structure. Performance shapes the experience that follows: how quickly the page appears, how reliably it responds and whether content stays in place as it loads.
At GUNMETAL, I start with what is already there. I assess your website, prioritise the issues and agree with you on what can be improved. An existing website does not automatically need to be rebuilt.
SEO foundations are part of every new website I build. This service goes further, with focused analysis, relevant content and agreed improvements. Google determines search rankings; I cannot guarantee specific positions.
What are your customers searching for?
Does your website answer that question?

Understand what is holding you back
I assess the agreed pages for technical accessibility, content structure, mobile usability and loading behaviour. Existing Google Search Console data adds context when I have access. You receive clear priorities: what needs attention first, what is worth considering later and what the implementation involves.
Speak your customers’ language
I research relevant search queries and the intention behind them. For local businesses, I account for the services and area you cover. This informs recommendations for pages, headings, copy and precise search result descriptions. Your content should explain your offer and answer real questions while keeping your personality recognisable.
Make your content accessible
I check indexability, internal links, the sitemap, redirects and page titles. I fix the agreed technical issues within the capabilities of your website. Where suitable content exists, I add structured data to help search engines interpret that information. It does not guarantee a special appearance in search results.
Your website should keep up
I optimise the agreed pages where they are being held back, such as images, font files, scripts or unnecessarily demanding effects. I check loading, response to input and visual stability on phones and desktops. Measurements guide the decisions. The aim is a website people can use comfortably.
Make progress understandable
I set up Google Search Console where needed to observe search queries, impressions, clicks and indexation. When useful for your business, I can add Google Analytics 4 with consent management and relevant action tracking. Enquiries, phone clicks or orders can then be considered alongside visitor numbers. I agree the measurement approach with your goals in mind.
Useful priorities. Clear scope.
The price depends on your website’s condition, the number of pages and the work agreed. I define the analysis, copy work and technical implementation with you before I start. You know which improvements are included and what they cost.
One-off improvements and ongoing SEO work each have their own scope. If further content work, reporting or adjustments are useful, I discuss them with you separately. You decide based on a concrete proposal.
You speak directly with me. I explain findings in plain language and tell you when an improvement is unlikely to bring much value to your business.
I assess the starting point
You tell me who you want to reach and what your website should do for your business. I agree the scope of the analysis with you, then assess the current state of the agreed pages and available data.
You receive clear priorities
I explain the main findings and propose specific improvements. The scope, costs and access needed are clear before you approve the implementation.
I implement the improvements
I update the agreed content and technical areas, then check the changes. You can follow what has changed and understand the purpose behind each measure.
I compare and explain
After implementation, I check functionality and measurements again. Search performance needs observation over time. I explain the current position and, where useful, recommend further steps within the agreed scope.
You receive an overview of the improvements made and the next steps worth considering.
